*Guest blog by Dr Adam Falkowski, Orsay, France* A new episode of the dark matter detection saga was just broadcast live from Sanford Lab. LUX is a new direct detection experiment located in a South Dakota mine, not far from Mt Rushmore. Today they presented their results based on the first 3 months of data taking. LUX is very similar to its direct competitor Xenon100. They both use a dual-phase xenon target, and a combination of scintillation and ionization photons to detect the collision of dark matter particles on nuclei, estimate the recoil energy, and separate dark-matter-li... more »

Fred Upton's "monkey court" Today Congressman Fred Upton grilled Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sabelius over the error-plagued launch of HealthCare.gov, the federal government’s enrollment website for mandatory health insurance. Would that he were so assiduous in his support for Americans’ access to high quality, affordable health care! This is the same Upton who voted 40 times to defund the Affordable Care Act. The same one who required healthcare navigators to fill out arduously voluminous paperwork before they could help people figure out how to get new health insu... more »

Another period of very stormy weather and potentially damaging winds is now likely to develop throughout Friday and the weekend across many parts of the country, as areas of intense low pressure push in from the Atlantic (As suggested in the Sunday update @ *http://youtu.be/BZHSAQC5K_4*). The stormy conditions are also likely to become and feel more widespread in scale and distribution, than the more recent St. Jude storm that we have just experienced. Further gusts and severe gales in excess of 60-80 mph are also a possibility, especially in some exposed coastal areas. This perio... more »

Depravity is a strong word, but what else can describe the the latest batch of revelations regarding the SWP/Delta alleged rape case? Going through the document one is confronted with the complete indifference, the arrogance, and the bullying the alleged victim, 'Comrade W', and her supporters faced. Greg Sargent has been doing great reporting and analysis on immigration, and today he reports on a third Republican Member who has signed on to the House Democrats' bill. A handful of Republicans willing to go public with their support for comprehensive immigration reform isn't likely to get a bill to the House floor. Both of Maine's congressmembers are Democrats-- and one, Chellie Pingree, is a strong progressive leader. Last year Obama beat Romney 401,306 (56%) to 292,276 (41%) in the state. And the Democrats regained control over both Houses of the state legislature. Still, the DSCC is reluctant to take on Senator Susan Collins. She has an undeserved reputation as a "moderate," probably because people think if a Republican isn't a teabagger, they must be a "moderate." I like that Paul is specifically attempting to influence the institution involved in this particular nomination. THIS Is Why I Moderate All Comments: Examples of JIDF/Hasbara "Comments" To My Site

Northerntruthseeker at Northerntruthseeker - 1 day ago
There have been many that say that I should change the format of my comment section and turn it into an "open forum" to discuss some of the material I post here.... I have always refused to take my comment section in that direction, primarily due to the incessant stupid attacks from known TROLLS and JIDF/Hasbara clowns that constantly try to flood my pending for approval comment section with their disgusting language and stupid attacks on myself and others.... I decided that for this article, I would give some recent examples of the so called "comments" that come from these trolls..... more »

Sandy Hook Was Indeed A Massive Hoax: Sandy Hook - Where's The Proof?

My response: *You do what I have been doing for the last 3 years, ever since I definitively disproved the "greenhouse effect" with my Venus/Earth temperatures comparison (the scientific debate has been over ever since): You identify the Insane Left (and the subornation of all of our authoritative institutions by it) as the immediate problem--substituting as it does a political ideology, and outright tyranny, for science--and the underlying problem... more »

Colin Craig Promises Land Grab

Peter Cresswell at Not PC - 1 day ago
*Guest post by Stephen Berry, from **Affordable Auckland* If his latest interview with TV3 is anything to go by, New Zealand’s political village idiot Colin Craig plans to surpass NZ First’s vote in the next election by putting forward even more extreme success-hating populism than Winston Peters. Craig wears a fig leaf of rectitude in saying urban boundaries in Auckland need to be extended. But in saying he and his Conservative Party would give property developers five years to develop their land before invoking the Public Works Act to have their property compulsorily acquired fo... more »
