How serious are you about local products?

Small Footprints at Reduce Footprints - 55 minutes ago
[image: How serious are you about local products?]*Would you spend more* *for local products?*I recently read an interesting Facebook discussion on our friend, Rewinn's, page. He asked if people would be willing to pay a premium for locally produced products. The answers were interesting. Some people talked about the "catch 22" of poverty. Others mentioned the need to support local economies. As I read through the answers, I wondered if "greenies" would answer the question in a similar fashion. We all know that local products are "greener" than products which travel across the worl... more »

High-Frequency Trading Goes Fairly To Highest Bidder? (After Charges of Running a Price-Fixing Cartel on Nasdaq in the 90s, Wall Street Banks Are Now Trading Their Own Stocks in Darkness)

And you thought the banks' behavior was going to improve after the fines? Obviously the fines were just the opening shot in the new "fixed game for the banks" scheme. It's a great deal. Really. Is the Bowe Bergdahl "official story " even accurate ? ( June 1 , 2014 ) Did the US swap high value Gitmo Detainees for a man alleged to be a deserter by a fellow soldier in Afghanistan at the time ? Read the articles and tweets and make your own mind up ? Early Saturday it was announced by the administration that the only American prisoner of war in the Afghanistan was released in exchange for 5 Guantanamo Bay terrorists being set free to Qatar. The circumstances of the capture of Bowe Bergdahl had been in question long before his release – supposedly he had wandered off and captured by the Taliban. But a soldier on Twitter is claiming that the official story is untrue, and has posted his version of the events that led to Bowe’s capture .........

Copper and Aluminum " ponzi scheme " coming apart ? June 4 , 2014 China Scrambling After "Discovering" Thousands Of Tons Of Rehypothecated Copper, Aluminum Missing ..... How bad might this get ? Consider the following ........“We have heard that some banks in China are offering financing against photocopied warehouse receipts,” one metals trader told MetalBulletin (login required), which first broke the news of the investigation and export freeze. There is currently a hold on all commodities that have been used as collateral for financing, which includes iron ore, aluminum, alumina and bauxite, and aluminum ore,MetalBulletin said. + One big question is who will be left holding the loan losses on the “missing” materials, which could be as high as $300 million, Metal Bulletin editor Alex Harrison told Quartz. Another uncertainty is whether these investigations will spread to other locations where metals are stored, which could ultimately affect the price and availability of credit though China......... the rumored size of the problem is rising fast—the value of the metals reportedly involved in the investigation started at “$250 million last week [and has] already risen to in excess of $1 billion,” a second Metal Bulletin report said today.

Nuclear scientist with expert knowledge, Steven Star: "It is frightening that President Obama and his administration appear unaware that the world’s leading scientists have for years predicted that a nuclear war fought with the US and/or Russian strategic nuclear arsenal means the end of human history. Former US Sen. Bill Bradley (D-NJ) calls NATO expansion a "fundamental blunder". This is an excerpt from a Carnegie Council talk he gave on January 23, 2008. So even in 2008 Bradley could see that NATO expansion was causing problems for Russia and in fact violated promises the US made to Russia at the time the Berlin Wall came down. Russia should remember what the Indians said about the Great White Father in Washington. The white man speaks with a forked tongue.

(I had not intended to write today, but there have been developments....) ..You would never guess it from a reading of the Irving press, but we are close to war with Russia - which would now be also war with China and war with Iran - at least. The coup was well-financed, highly organized, and the western powers, contrary to all, normal diplomatic behaviour immediately recognized a new go... more »

*School leavers 'better off training for a trade than going to university’* Future generations of school leavers should consider turning their backs on university because of a sharp rise in the projected number of medium and low-skilled jobs, according to research. The majority of teenagers are likely to be better prepared for the workplace by shunning higher education in favour of practical, jobs-based training over the next 10 years, it was claimed. Over the years you swam the ocean Following feelings of your own, Now you are washed up on the shoreline, I can see your body lie, It's a shame you have to die to put the shadow ... more »

"Human Destiny- the Grace of the Present Moment"

noreply@blogger.com (CoyotePrime) at Running 'Cause I Can't Fly - 1 day ago
*"Human Destiny- the Grace of the Present Moment"* by Michael Dowd "Our present situation, I think, can be summarized by the following three sentences: 1. The glory of the human has become the desolation of the Earth. 2. The desolation of the Earth is becoming the destiny of the human. 3. Therefore, all human activities, professions, programs and institutions must henceforth be judged primarily by the extent to which they inhibit, ignore or foster a mutually enhancing human/Earth relationship." — Thomas Berry "A thing is right when it tends to preserve the diversity, stability, and... more »

"Lakotah Instructions for Living"

*"Lakotah Instructions for Living"* "Friend do it this way- that is, whatever you do in life, do the very best you can with both your heart and mind. And if you do it that way, the Power Of The Universe will come to your assistance, if your heart and mind are in Unity. When one sits in the Hoop Of The People, one must be responsible because All of Creation is related. And the hurt of one is the hurt of all. And the honor of one is the honor of all. And whatever we do effects everything in the universe. If you do it that way- that is, if you truly join your heart and mind as One- wh... more »

"People Who Don’t Get It: Living with It"

* "People Who Don’t Get It: Living with It"* by Madisyn Taylor, The DailyOM "When dealing with people who seem very unaware, remember that everyone must find their own way to awakening. You may be someone who understands the true nature of reality, perceiving deeply that we all emanate from the same source, that we are all essentially one, and that we are here on earth to love one another. To understand this is to be awakened to the true nature of the self, and it is a blessing. Nevertheless, people who just don’t get it are seemingly everywhere and, often, in positions of power. "Be Yourself"

“Beware the irrational, however seductive. Shun the ‘transcendent’ and all who invite you to subordinate or annihilate yourself. Distrust compassion; prefer dignity for yourself and others. Don’t be afraid to be thought arrogant or selfish. Picture all experts as if they were mammals. Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity. Seek out argument and disputation for their own sake; the grave will supply plenty of time for silence. Suspect your own motives, and all excuses. Do not live for others any more than you would expect others to live for you.” - Christopher Hitchens

We’re Finally Free of the Taxman’s Shackles!

Peter Cresswell at Not PC - 1 day ago
Well, we’re free of his shackles for the rest of the year anyway, because* for the entirety of the year to date we have all been working for no-one but him*. Because today is Tax Freedom Day, and the Taxpayers Union is celebrating! Congratulations New Zealand, as at 10.04am today you are working for yourself. However, the fact the Government accounts for all the money earned until today means it is unlikely New Zealanders will be celebrating. The government has effectively sucked up all of our earnings for the first 154 days of the year. OECD figures put the current burden of... more »

*“Mr. Fix-it- A Summer Program”* by Chet Raymo “At the end of an essay on poetry in the Times Literary Supplement (16 May, 2014), author and critic Clive James writes: "I still make plans to live forever; there are too many critical questions still to be raised. Most of them can never be settled, which is the best reason for raising them. Well, yes. The questions and opinions that have been the meat and potatoes of the Science Musings blog are far from settled, and I could go on exploring them for another lifetime. But I don't have another lifetime, and my interests have turned fro... more »

Tunisian with ties to Canadian 'train plot'- plea bargain- NO terrorism charge?!

Canadians who read here may or may not have forgotten, that very easy to forget, alleged terror plot (false flag psy-op) involving VIA Rail. *April 22/2013 Canadian Police "thwart" major terror attack: How convenient is this?* * Refresh your memory- * The RCMP said at an afternoon news conference that Chiheb Esseghaier, 30, of Montreal, and Raed Jaser, 35, of Toronto, had received support and* "guidance" from al-Qaeda "elements" in Iran*, but there is no indication they were "state sponsored." Neither is a Canadian citizen. The RCMP would not identify their nationalities or say h... more »

CT - Re-Elect ALEC - Shame on You

2old2care at Because I Can - 1 day ago
This headline reminds me of the "I am not a witch" commercial *Lavielle: I am not an ALEC member* *published today and it's got issues.* This topic happens to be a campaign issue for Lavielle - many in CT are questioning whether this should be a campaign issue. ALEC is ALWAYS a campaign issue. One comment at the end of the article suggests it is Mccarthey-esque to ask Are you now or have you ever been an ALEC member. Evidently someone - who is ignorant about ALEC and upset that their Repug candidate has been put under a philosophical belief microscope. To understand this story - y... more »

What is we are preventing, because on some avenues you only see junkie piss. The cops do not go there its too stinky, they justify killing babies to make sure you do not end up the same way. *Source: El Observador (Chile)Date: 05.31.2014* *Chile: Unidentified Light Videotaped Over La Serena* Everyone knows that the region has a record of unidentified flying object manifestations in different locations, particularly the local valleys. However, the UFO captured on video by local youths was recorded from La Serena's Avenida del Mar. It is possible to see a small yellow light maneuvering in the sky in these images, moving in different directions in a matter of seconds. During nearly three minutes of recording, the youths exchange opinions about the phenomenon that has a... more »

Thoughts on the Third Eye with Doc Sutter

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 1 day ago
Thanks for these insights. They are very important and most important is that we can all access this ability. What is just as clear is that there is little proper guidance because we have all been in denial. What makes it harder is that it is also clear that we need the guidance. The evil spirit does exist and spirits generally must not be trusted to have a whole truth. What has to be understood is that spirits as we encounter them are generally human and are plausibly no better informed than when they left the physical. They can pay attention and help or not as well. ... more »

The Natural Healing Paradigm with Doc Sutter

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 1 day ago
We have been working around the field of healing for some time. Some of that was personal, but far more of it was observational and through the extensive reading tracked through this blog. It was also driven by the clear and failure of current medical practice to actually solve the big obvious problems. Postponement was never a cure. Doc Sutter has filled in the blanks and developed a clear healing protocol or perhaps we need to refer to them as protocols. Even more important it is a program that leads to health restoration. There is a lot of meat in the details. First I... more »

Whale Graveyard?

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 1 day ago
This is unexpected and the numbers even more unexpected. I would like to see these well studied in order to determine just what happens to the skeleton. Do they also breakdown? I expect so, but this is our chance to find out. The reason I ask this is that we do have an ancient rare seabed fossil that was subjected to the same environment. It would be good to know just how unique fossilization happens to be. Not quite an elephants graveyard but it certainly smacks of just that. *Deep-sea 'graveyard' reveals fate of dead ocean giants* *By Rebecca Morelle* *Science correspo... more »

Beware the ‘Little White Rabbit’ of China’s Military

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 1 day ago
Of course, the Chinese military has the mission of neutralizing western Military dominance. This includes a vast amount of disinformation and the current spate of small challenges on small territorial issues in order to perhaps settle borders. I do not thinking that it is working too well and is mostly encouraged by a pacifist President. What has happened is that the informal border state alliance has been reinvigorated and we will see pushback in which the Border States will be quite able to drive a fair bargain. That was not particularly smart and only excusable in terms o... more »
