The Humiliation Of Ted Cruz, Mike Pence, The Republican Party-- While The Demented Donald Laughs At America

DownWithTyranny at DownWithTyranny! - 20 minutes ago
The superficially crafted messaging of the Republican convention has been stepped on and obliterated every day. But Hillary better not feel powerful for having had anything to do with it. It's all Trump and his incompetent, deranged micro-campaign that's causing all the seemingly self-destructive chaos. Trump lifted those plagiarized passages from Michelle Obama's speech and put them into Melania's address and ate up two-and-a-half days of headlines that might have gone to republican messaging. Trump lured Ted Cruz into an untenable position last night, overshadowing, Mike Pence's... more »

Matrix Deprogramming and the Prohibition of Nature’s Red Pill

This item introduces Iboga therapy which is similar to Ayahausca therapy and surely compliments it. It apparently restores folks with PTSD which is induced physically. All this suggests application to the full range of brain related problems. Without assigning blame for effective prohibition, what is certain is that the substance needs to extensively researched and applied to large target populations. as does ayahausca. Do note that both have centuries of therapeutic use without serious negative consequences and shamans have developed effective management ... more »

Stay on the Spiritual Path

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 54 minutes ago
*| * This story is as bad as it gets. It identifies something that needs to be stamped out by direct action using the FBI who may be internally compromised. This type of fascist society uses secrecy and natural disbelief to get its way. It has arisen many times particularly in a society that is not naturally heterogeneous. Southern whites in particular are a minority in their own backyard by history and this makes them susceptible to direct recruitment by more violent elements. The direct solution is actually quite simple. Ban southern recruitment to all police duties and sen... more »

Family hunting near Wahkiacus is stalked by a large animal

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 54 minutes ago
. An interesting report of a group been aggressively stalked. The smell and behavior strongly suggests we are dealing with a Giant Sloth. That could be cleared up if it were possible to get well defined tracks. The silence here suggests that we had disturbance but no clarity. Both Bigfoot and the sloth are easily identified as such. This report fails to conform to Bigfoot behavior in particular which is why i am inclined to presume a Giant sloth first. Alternately they had stumbled into a Bigfoot home territory and a Bigfoot wanted them to leave. However i would then expec... more »

*The Strike Is Over - We Have A Deal!* The Bargaining Team is very pleased to announce that *we have reached a settlement*! This is a "tentative settlement," pending ratification by our members, then the Library Board, and Council. The Bargaining Team is very happy. We are proud of the contract we are bringing home, and we know it never could have been achieved without a strike. Our members had the courage to use labour's most powerful tool and I believe they will feel it was worth it, both for the gains we've made on this contract, and for our future. CIA Pilot Presents Evidence That No Planes Hit Towers On 9/11

Ex-CIA and commercial jet pilot John Lear claims that the Twin Towers were not bought to the ground by planes crashing into them on 9/11, and now detailed information has been posted online corroborating his account. In Lear’s expert opinion the official claim that two planes crashed into the towers is actually “physically impossible.” With reports from the Kremlin that President Putin will release satellite images proving that the Twin Towers were destroyed by “controlled demolition” rather than by the force of two planes, enormous strides towards disproving the official 9/11 Commi... more »

According to a French article, this is the first time French authorities have been asked to destroy such crucial evidence in an ongoing investigation. What Is Sustainable at What Is Sustainable - 5 hours ago
Colin Tudge wrote *Neanderthals, Bandits, & Farmers*, a book that presents his theories on the dawn of progress and perpetual growth, focusing on how agriculture really began. At the time, he was employed by the London School of Economics, an institution focused on capitalism, not ecological sustainability. The book vibrates with cognitive dissonance. Tudge has been studying agriculture for many years. On one hand, it was a magnificent achievement that threw open the door to the wonders of modernity. On the other hand, modernity has become a victim of its own success, with s... more »

James C Morton at Morton's Musings - 11 hours ago
R. v. K.R.J., 2016 SCC 31: Section 11 (i) of the Charter  constitutionally enshrines the fundamental notion that criminal laws should generally not operate retrospectively. This constitutional aversion for retrospective criminal laws is primarily motivated by the desire to protect the fairness of criminal proceedings and safeguard the rule of law. Rules pertaining to criminal punishment should be clear and certain. To attract the protection of s. 11 (i), the new prohibition measures must qualify as “punishment”. In R. v. Rodgers, 2006 SCC 15, [2006] 1 S.C.R. 554, this Court devel... more »

Police must take steps to ensure medical treatment for prisoners

James C Morton at Morton's Musings - 11 hours ago
R. v. Poirier, 2016 ONCA 582:[82] In my opinion, the police have a duty to take reasonable steps to ensure that the accused's safety and security of the person are not compromised as a result of the nature of the search. Reasonable steps can only be taken if the police inform themselves as to the risks of the procedure they are carrying out. [83] I find support for my position in the jurisprudence. In *Chaoulli v. Quebec (Attorney General)*, 2005 SCC 35, [2005] 1 S.C.R. 791, at para. 118, McLachlin C.J. and Major J. held that "delays in obtaining medical treatment whi... more »

A seriously good article in the Spectator http://blogs.spectator.co.uk/2016/07/moral-case-jeremy-corbyn/ Here's an extract but do read it all. 'I can make a fair case for saying that Jeremy Corbyn is the most hypocritical and unscrupulous leader in Labour's history. His paid employment while he was an MP was nothing so elevated as corporate lobbying. It consisted of working for the propaganda stations of Russia and Iran. If you watch the YouTubevideos of Corbyn in action, you cannot pretend that he is challenging his paymasters or even politely expressing an alternative point o... more »

Math teacher bashing on yahoo news.

skrashen at Schools Matter - 1 day ago
Response to an article on math teacher bashing, published at the Hechinger report and carried ON YAHOO NEWS!! "We’d be better at math if the U.S. borrowed these four ideas for training teachers from Finland, Japan and China." Mr. Tucker and author Mr. Felton need to look at the research. When we control for the effects of poverty, American students do quite well on international tests of math. Our overall scores are unspectacular because there is so much child poverty in the US. It's not too early to start planning what to do with the "leap second" we'll be getting New Year's Eve

KenInNY at DownWithTyranny! - 1 day ago
*Tim Hornyak took this photo in Tokyo on June 30 of last year, as this clock presumably ticked down to the addition of the last leap second.* *by Ken* You know how we're always complaining that our lives are so tightly scheduled that we don't have a second to spare? Europeans And Russians Are Talking About War

War News Updates Editor at War News Updates - 1 day ago
*Jill Dougherty, Wilson Center:* *War Fever* Recently, I grabbed a taxi in Moscow. When the driver asked me where I was from, I told him the United States. “I went there once,” he said, “to Chicago. I really liked it.” “But tell me something,” he added. “When are we going to war?” The question, put so starkly, so honestly, shocked me. “Well, I hope never,” I replied. “No one wants war.” At the office I ask a Russian employee about the mood in his working-class Moscow neighborhood. The old people are buying salt, matches and “gretchka,” (buckwheat) he tells me - the time-worn refug... more »
