Why is Enenews Down?

Majia's Blog at Majia's Blog - 13 hours ago
Some readers here may have frequented the anti-nuclear, aggregator website, Enenews.com. Enenews was a news aggregator site that appeared online during the early days of the Fukushima Daiichi disaster. It appears to have been finally taken down from the web this last week. I found Enenews particularly significant because it hosted the most frequented English-language discussion of Fukushima cam imagery. As of June 2016, Enenews was ranked 153,579 in Japan and 69,699 in the US by Alexa. Enenews’ first post was dated March 23, 2011.[i] On May 22, 2011, the “general discussion” foru... more »

РИА Новости | Перейти в фотобанк *Newsweek:* *Vladimir Putin Says He Fears 'Srebrenica-like' Massacre in Ukraine* Russian President Vladimir Putin has defended the decision to keep his country’s porous border with war stricken regions of Ukraine open, saying the move was aimed at avoiding a Srebrenica-like massacre. The conflict in Ukraine’s Donetsk and Luhansk regions began after weeks of mass protests against pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych in the capital Kiev. Taking Back The House Is #1 Priority But Winning Open Blue Seats For Progressive Reformers Is Also Crucial

DownWithTyranny at DownWithTyranny! - 1 day ago
People aren't thinking much about the Albuquerque congressional district, NM-01. It's a safely blue district and the incumbent, dull backbencher Michelle Lujan Grisham is stepping down to run for governor, leaving 8 or so candidates vying for the nomination to take on some Republican destined for defeat (either Michael Hendricks or Janice Arnold-Jones). The candidates I've dug up so far are lobbyist Annie Chavez, retired law professor Antoinette Sedillo Lopez, attorney Damian Lara, former U.S. Attorney Damon Martinez, former state Democratic Party Chairwoman Deb Haaland, physicist... more »

Why The Lack Of Coverage From The U.S. Media On The Liberation Of Raqqa From The Islamic State?

War News Updates Editor at War News Updates - 1 day ago
*Joe Concha, The Hill:* *We are finally beating ISIS, but media won't give Trump credit* ISIS — and particularly its expanding caliphate — used to be a major news story in this country. Defeating the terror army that largely stretched across Syria and Iraq was a major campaign topic in 2016. So one would think, after the ISIS de facto capital of Raqqa was liberated from the terror group by U.S-backed Syrian and Kurdish forces on Tuesday, that the story would dominate news coverage. But it didn't. Not even close. *Read more *.... *WNU Editor*: I have mentioned it before .... b... more »

"Is this what will become of our Sun? Quite possibly. The bubble of expanding gas pictured below is the planetary nebula PK 164 +31.1, the remnants of the atmosphere of a Sun-like star expelled as its supply of fusion-able core hydrogen became depleted. Visible near the center of the nebula is what remains of the core itself- a blue-hot white dwarf star. This particularly photogenic planetary nebula shows intricate shells of gas likely expelled at different times toward the end the star's demise, and whose structure is not fully understood. *Click image for larger size.* This deep i... more »

*"Ninth Duino Elegy"* "Praise the world to the angel: leave the unsayable aside. Your exalted feelings do not move him. In the universe, where he feels feelings, you are a beginner. Therefore show him what is ordinary, what has been shaped from generation to generation, shaped by hand and eye. Tell him of things. He will stand still in astonishment, the way you stood by the ropemaker in Rome or beside the potter on the Nile. Show him how happy a thing can be, how innocent and ours, how even a lament takes pure form, serves as a thing, dies as a thing, while the violin, blessing it, fades... more »

*“Time, Person, Year, Way...”* by Chet Raymo “According to the Concise Oxford English Dictionary, the 25 most used nouns in the English language are: time, person, year, way, day, thing, man, world, life, hand, part, child, eye, woman, place, work, week, case, point, government, company, number, group, problem, fact. All very prosaic. Very workaday. Time leads the way, with year, day and week bucking up the calendar. Hand takes precedence over eye. Man, child, woman in her place. Case in point: government and company. Problem precedes fact. Work is always with us, of course; play i... more »

"Maybe we accept the dream has become a nightmare. We tell ourselves that reality is better. We convince ourselves it's better that we never dream at all. But, the strongest of us, the most determined of us, holds on to the dream or we find ourselves faced with a fresh dream we never considered. We wake to find ourselves, against all odds... feeling hopeful. And, if we're lucky, we realize in the face of everything, in the face of life- the true dream is being able to dream at all." - "Dr. Meredith Grey", "Grey's Anatomy"

And this I must fight against: any idea, religion, or government which limits or destroys the individual." - John Steinbeck

Washington Forbids Serbia from De-Mining Syria

Daniel McAdams at Ron Paul Institute for Peace And Prosperity - 1 day ago
[image: undefined] This may be one of the cruelest and most cynical moves of Washington in its entire dark "regime change Syria" chapter. Serbian media sources are reporting, based on quotes from US Embassy Belgrade personnel, that the United States has sought and been given assurances by the Serbian government and military that Serbian de-mining experts will not be deploying to Syria to assist in removing the ubiquitous horrific mines and other explosive devices left behind by a retreating ISIS. As the rout of ISIS forces continues in Syria, the civilian population begins returni... more »
