Ohio GOP Challenge To Sherrod Brown Falls Apart
Ohio is one of those super-gerrymandered states whose state legislative
districts and congressional districts were drawn by the Republicans to make
it impossible for Democrats to win seats. Keep in mind that Obama won
statewide in 2008 and 2012— 2,940,044 (51.38%) to 2,677,820 (46.80%) in
2008 and 2,827,709 (50.67%) to 2,661,437 (47.69%) in 2012. Yet Ohio has a
very static and very lopsided state legislature with 24 Republicans and 9
Democrats in the state Senate and a 66-33 GOP margin in the state House.
The congressional delegation includes 12 Republicans and just 4 Democrats.

CNN host Jake Tapper abruptly ended an interview with White House staffer
Stephen Miller....
Tapper noted that President Trump had recently called himself a “stable
genius” in response to [Michael] Wolff’s book....
“It happens to be a true statement,” Miller shot back.
“I’m sure he’s watching and he’s happy you said that,” a frustrated Tapper
said.
“That was a snide remark,” Miller complained....

I was reminded today about a high-profile BBC programme from 2005 called *How
Euro Are You?. *
With the aid of pollsters the BBC 'found' that 57% of the British public
wanted to "integrate fully" with the EU and that a mere 10% of the British
public wanted to leave the EU. That, of course, was no more representative
of the actual public mood back then than it is now.
That in turn reminded me of that notorious *Newsnight *panel, also aided by
pollsters, which produced shows of hands that went overwhelmingly *against *sovereignty
